Under Ohio Law, and in accordance with 1196 OP. Atty. Gen.  No. 96-019, the county recorder shall accept for recording only documents that are authorized by the Ohio Revised Code to be recorded. See, e.g. R.C. Chapter 317; R.C.  1311.06; R.C. 5301.252.

As your County Recorder, I recommend that you review your documents carefully prior to recording them. Check to be sure social security numbers are not listed on the documents. Effective 09-26-06, no documents with SSN are to be recorded unless the document is mandated by law to include the SSN.
