Harrison County Juvenile Court
The Purpose and mission of the Juvenile Court is defined in Ohio Revised Code Section 2151.01 and 2152.01 as follows:
- To provide for the care, protection, and mental and physical development of children;
- To protect the public interest and safety, hold juvenile offenders accountable for their actions, restore the victim, and rehabilitate juvenile offenders;
- To achieve the foregoing purposes, whenever possible, in the family environment, separating the child from its parents only when necessary for his/her welfare, or in the interests of public safety;
- To provide judicial procedures through which Chapter 2151 and 2152 of the Revised Code are executed and enforced, and in which parties are assured of a fair hearing, and their constitutional and other legal rights are recognized and enforced.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) - CASA Volunteers advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. People from all backgrounds and walks of life can complete the training and become CASA Volunteers. Every child in Ohio deserves a safe, permanent and loving home.
