Real Estate bills are mailed in mid-January for first half billing and mid-June for second half billing.

Please return bills wrongfully sent and provide us with correct names and addresses, if possible. Failure to receive a bill does not excuse failure or delay in payment of your taxes.
Payment Due Dates:
First Half: February 26, 2025
Second Half: July 30, 2025
Penalty & Interest Dates for taxes due in 2025:
- February 26 Last day to pay 1st half taxes without penalty.
- February 27 5% of the unpaid 1st half taxes will be added as penalty.
- March 10 10% of the unpaid 1st half taxes will be added as penalty.
- July 30 Last day to pay 2nd half taxes without penalty.
- July 31 5% of the total unpaid 2025 tax will be added as penalty.
- August 10 10% of the total unpaid 2025 tax bill will be added as penalty
- August 22 A percentage of the unpaid prior years' delinquency will be added as interest.
- December 2 A percentage of the total unpaid balance will be added as interest.
Manufactured Home bills are mailed the end of January for first half billing and the end of June for second half billing.

NOTE: If you would like a receipt with your mail-in payment, please include your entire bill (both top and bottom portions) with your payment and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Additionally, if you own more than one parcel and/or manufactured home, you may pay all with one check. If you choose to pay each parcel or manufactured home individually, you may also include more than one payment in an envelope.
An additional safe and secure way for taxpayers to view and pay their real estate tax bills is available by visiting https://harrisoncountyohio.smartpayworks.com or by calling 740-668-1254. A fee is associated with either method. You will need your parcel number or manufactured home registration number located on your bill for this form of payment. Taxpayers may also choose to go paperless for their next bill at the same website.

Escrow Program: If you are interested in paying your taxes by the month and wish to discuss these options, please contact our office.
Delinquent Payment Plan: We are able to offer plans to help with the payment of your delinquent taxes. If you wish to discuss these options, please contact our office.
Senior Citizens: Applications for the Homestead Exemption can be obtained from the County Auditor's office.
2025 Qualification requirements:
1. You are 65 or older or are permanently disabled. Based on $38,600 a year income;
2. You are a surviving spouse between 59 and 64 whose property was already receiving the exemption;
3. You own and live in the residence receiving the exemption;
4. Make application for exemption by the 1st Monday in June.
Valuation complaints: According to the Ohio Revised Code Section 323.13, complaints must be filed before April 1st with the County Auditor.

Penalties for Partial Payment: If the amount of the tax bill is not paid or, if mailed, is not postmarked with Post Office cancellation on or before the due date, a penalty and possible interest will be added to the amount due pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 323.123. The Treasurer's Office makes every effort to mail all tax bills to the party responsible for payment. It is the obligation of the taxpayer to obtain the property bill(s) if not received in the mail. Failure to receive a tax bill does not excuse your failure to pay, nor does it relieve a taxpayer of the mandatory penalty and/or interest imposed by law.
Address Changes: Please notify the Treasurer's Office of any change in mailing address. Additionally, there is a space provided for this purpose on your return envelope.
